We’ve been contemplating lately the importance of our extended family in our life. As transplants to Texas with no blood relatives nearby, we’re extremely blessed that God has blessed us with a village that includes non-relatives as well as relatives. There was a time when we didn’t recognize the value of having support in our marriage and our parenting. But now that we have it, we are so appreciative of the support, wisdom, time, accountability, and love that others pour into our family. It’s so important to have people that love you and want the best for you.
Our challenge for you this month is to assess your village. Who do you have in your life to pour wisdom and accountability into your marriage and/or support and love into your parenting journey? If you don’t have that village, pray and ask God to surround you with people who will love, support, and encourage you in marriage/family life.
